2.2 - Libraries

Configurables: Import models with options

Sample file

For this step-by-step tutorial, you can use a sample IBX file, found on our Downloads page. Choose the file Configurator.

Module 1: Introduction!
How do you import into Innobrix?

Innobrix makes use of Libraries. These libraries can be used to upload models, and is the step that comes after the Revit section. For models that are (going to be) used in the Housing configurator (and also Plan Configurator), the Configurables Libraries are intended. The duration of the processing process can vary, and usually depends greatly on the complexity, level of detail, and/or number of groups the model contains.

In essence, the more groups and heavier the model, the longer the processing process takes. This is usually a good time to get a bowl of ☕.

STEP 2

Go to the Configurables page and create a new Library by pressing the + Create New Library button. Enter Tutorial as the name, and then click Save. You can then drag and drop Free.ibx from the directory you exported from into the appropriate upload field. Alternatively, you can click on the upload field and select the file manually.

The Configurable-Editor

Once the model is ready, you will see an automatically generated thumbnail of the model appear. The thumbnail of each model has 3 buttons:

  • Edit / Modify (the name)
  • Delete
  • Duplicate

Clicking on the thumbnail or image will take you to the so-called Configurable-Editor. Models uploaded within one Library have the ability to share materials, textures and option lists.
