2.2 - Libraries

Configurables: importing models with options

Sample file

For this step-by-step tutorial you can use a sample IBX file from our Downloads page. Choose the Configurator file.

Chapter 2.2: Importing the IBX file!
How do you import into Innobrix?

Innobrix uses Libraries. These libraries are where you upload models, and they are the step that follows Revit. Models that will be used in the Home Configurator (and Plan Configurator) belong in Configurables Libraries. Processing time can vary and largely depends on the complexity, level of detail, and number of groups in the model.

In short: the more groups and the heavier the model, the longer processing takes. A good moment to grab a coffee.

STEP 2

Go to the Configurables page and create a new Library by clicking + Create new library. Enter "Tutorial" as the name and click Save.

You can then drag and drop Vrijstaand.ibx from the export directory into the upload field. Alternatively, click the upload field and select the file manually.

The Configurable Editor

When the model is ready you will see an automatically generated thumbnail. Each thumbnail has three buttons:

  • Edit (the name)

  • Delete

  • Duplicate

Clicking the thumbnail opens the Configurable Editor. Models uploaded within a Library can share materials, textures, and option lists.
